My guess is that after the Youtube Cosmic Panda update is rolled out in full force that there will be a lot of people looking for Youtube alternatives, especially those who only want to work with social networks that bring value to their own websites. What do I mean by this? Well, you need to understand that there are certain networks that will pull away visitors from your site due to technical considerations and those that won't. Oh, how can I tell the difference? I am not going to tell you right away and you ought to join me on Youtube (Oh no!.. umm I mean Twitter) if you really want to find out. Yes! Send me a question and I will most likely give you an answer in due course.

Some of you simply want a list of Youtube Alternatives with links to their Home Pages. OK- I will give it to you right now except without the links.

1. Blip TV

2. Vimeo

3. Flickr

4. Veoh

5. Viddler

6. DailyMotion

Guess what? This website is not using Web 2.0 Technology but it might just be possible for you to comment DIRECTLY on the following video without even having to be on their website. Oh! This is something different, isn't it? Yes! Play with the controls on the video and leave a comment and tell me what you think. You don't have to leave my website to leave a comment if you have already signed up with them. Whoever designed this knows that this is exactly what some of us want because there should be no reason for anyone to leave our website if we have something to sell. Did you manage to find out how to do it? Keep trying if you could not figure it out!

The next alernative is something called Vimeo and if you want to see what it looks like compared with the video above then by all means see the next video in Vimeo style. I am not using Vimeo at the moment.

Nuit Blanche from Spy Films on Vimeo.

To be honest with you my personal preference is the video I have shown at the top and this is for purely technical reasons. People have said that social networks are meant for interaction and if you have played a lot with social networks you are going to find out that there is not really much true interaction going on in most circles. Most of what happens on social networks is fake and those who use them the most will know what I am talking about.

The next video is a Youtube video. As you read this you might already be in the realms of Cosmic Panda which is probably going to be something that goes ahead for Youtube. If it does and if it does not support websites and blogs like it used to, then I guess I am going to move away and I have a hunch that there will be others who do the same. At this current moment nobody is sure (it is 3rd September 2011) just what we can expect from Cosmic Panda but one thing is for sure and it is that we should be thinking about the value of our domain name and website above our social networks. Why is this? Well, I have not left Youtube completely and the serious question website owners need to ask themselves is posed in the following Youtube video.

There is a problem that a lot of people are also having with understanding what is going on from a technical and financial perspective. If you are a business minded person then you might be taking the questions posed in the above video more seriously than others.

What are the answers? Well, this website is actually asking you a question. The question is Who is Bid? If you know how to follow digital footprints then you will see that this website is involved in all kinds of social networks and blogs but the main purpose of the involvement has to do with strengthening my own website. That is what you should be doing if you want to own something and make it grow, especially if it is digital.

I really like what the first video has to offer. In fact I like it so much that I want to embed another video for you to watch and this one is from the people who created this service. Hope you find it useful and of course you can always join me there and add yourself as a friend or simply subscribe. This guy deserves to have his video watched because he has experienced something pretty terrible somewhere else. That is not the reason why I would make the switch and if you want to know the answers it is going to take some time for you to research it. There is problem with giving too many answers on a website and it has to do with social interaction. If you already know the answers and you post them for everyone to see on some social network, then why would anyone bother to go to your website? This website has some answers but you will have to browse it to find them. Lets say that diamonds are found in the dirt and so the diamonds on this website are hidden somewhere and the navigation is pretty terrible (on purpose) because you should have fun here searching for the answers. No-one wants their website to become a "bounce" site do they? This is my answer to the "bounce" problem. If you don't know what bouncing is then do a Google search for "website bounce rate" and don't forget to come back here.
